Young Cardamom & HAB


    Meet Young Cardamom & HAB; a duo of talented rappers. Young Cardamon aka YC (Zohran Kwame Mamdani) and HAB (Hussein Abdul Bar) are mates who grew up in the same locality of Buziga. The duo kicked off their music career in 2015 with “Kanda (Chap Chap)”, a song all about an East African delicacy: chapatti.

    They this year dropped their first EP: Sidda Mukyaalo literally meaning (I am not going back to the village) along with their first music video off the album, P.S.V. The video was shot spontaneously at a photo shoot a few kilometers outside Fort Portal by paparazzo Martin Kharumwa, with set design by artist Mirembe Musisi. This was followed by the release of #1 Spice.

    No #1 Spice song features as major sound track in world popular Queen of Katwe film.

    Directed by Mira Nair, #1 Spice video Features Queen of Katwe stars namely Madina Nalwanga, Lupita Nyong’o, David Oyelowo and Martin Kabanza among others.

    There is no doubt that Young Cardamom & HAB are hardworking rappers with a big dream. We can only watch the space and see how far they go. Their music is already selling in world stores and getting positive reviews be critics globally.

    Sidda Mukyaalo is – six songs album telling different stories of Kampala, and taking on tough issues like racism and corruption, but with a sense of humour that will you a sweet entertainment blend.
