Born in Kampala in 1989, Bagonza Alexander aka A Pass is a singer and songwriter popularly known for dancehall and Reggae music. The 2nd born of 7 siblings and acclaimed as a force to reckon with, A Pass was raised by his father and Mother and began singing in church as a child. A Pass has in the recent been nominated for the Prestigious HiPipo Music Awards in categories such as Best Breakthrough Male Artist, and Best Ragga-Dancehall song among others. His collaboration with Lillian Mbabazi titled Memories won the award for Best Zouk song in HiPipo Music Awards 2016.
His parents and peers motivated him as he developed love for music in High school. A Pass recorded his first single in 2003. He later met Don Mc at St. Lawrence College who introduced him to music producer Imon Pro at SouthCyde Records, with whom A Pass recorded songs like Life is getting harder. A Pass formed a strong musical relationship with Dave Dash who later moved on to become a radio presenter.
In 2011, through Imon pro, A Pass met video director Lukyamuzi Bashir aka BADI who introduced him to more influential people in the music industry. In 2012, he (Lukyamuzi Bashir) built Badi Musik; a recording studio in Makindye giving A Pass unlimited studio-time. BADI went on to shoot videos for A Pass in 2013, which jump-started A Pass’ professional music career.
A Pass recruited his sister Maureen Asiimwe as his Manager as he believed that she would be promote and protect his musical interests.
A Pass has recorded music with several artistes and also wrote songs for many others.
