Wasafi CEO also one of Africa’s most marketable artiste has turned down a chance to sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Record Label opting for negotiations with Universal Music Group, a source has revealed.
The source further noted that for the past months, there have been several ongoing discussions between Diamond’s management and Roc Nation. However, with Universal Music Group coming in the picture, Diamond and his team opted to pose their negotiations with Roc Nation to hear from the Universal team.
HiPipo couldn’t independently verify these claims but continues to engage with Diamond management to get details about the same.
If he eventually signs for Universal Music Group, Diamond will join the likes of PSquare that are equally signed to the same company.
However, if he reconsiders and signs with Roc Nation, he will join Nigerian Tiwa Savage who recently signed for the same record label or a long term deal.
The development comes at a time when Diamond is working on becoming a bigger and better artiste across the world come 2017. He is already working on projects with Neyo, French Montana and Usher. But that is not all as it is also rumored that he may feature Rihanna or Justin Bieber on his upcoming album.
