The CEO Baboon forest entertainment record label is in the house.” Those were the words of GNL Zamba (Pam awards Hip Hop single award winner 2010) as he got on stage to talk about Speaking in vernacular album and Baboon forest entertainment record label.
“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle. That’s why Baboon forest entertainment has decided to sign talented artists like Mun G, Big Trill and Free Boy",GNL Zamba noted. He added: "Speaking in vernacular is an album meant to celebrate victory for doing things that my teachers always told me not to do but have now made me what I am. That’s why I sing in vernacular."
After speeches by members of Baboon forest entertainment namely; GNL Zamba, Mun G, Big Trill and Free Boy, the MC of the day Rude boy Mackenzie a radio and TV presenter on Hot 100 and WBS TV respectively invited the fans and press to ask questions.
After reacting to all the questions, it was now performance time. Baboon forest entertainment’s Big Trill came on stage first, followed by Free Boy and then Mun G who performed all his favorite songs starting with Kiri Obvious, Ebintu and You make me wanna.
The main man of the day GNL Zamba came on stage at 8:00 pm with one of his latest Lugaflow hits Speaking vernacular which was dedicated to the late P.Tech (R.I.P). GNL then presented Prayer, Make a wish along with tusker project fame’s Naava, wuuba akatambala, Nyo Nyo, Kwata essimu yo and Sesetula a collabo with MunG.
Speaking in vernacular album was produced by producers Hannz Tactiq, Sam Namara and Benon Mulyowa of Swangz Avenue. It is the second album to be released by the king of Lugaflow GNL Zamba after his first successful album Koi Koi that he released in 2009.
Among the many popular figures present were RFI African artist of the year Maurice Kirya, UZ47’s Allan Tonix, Shadrak and DJ Lubega Ntino; the individual who GNL Zamba talks about as the first person to ever give him a chance to perform on stage.
