On a football match that will be watched by more than 40,000 people in Namboole stadium and hundreds of thousands on TV, Fyonna Nsubuga a UK based Ugandan singer and song writer, will have great opportunity to sing to anthems live to the crowds.
Fyonna has been booked by MTN to sing the national Anthems of both teams live at Namboole stadium in June when Cranes hosts Senegal.
This comes after Fyonna’s release of an encouraging song for the Uganda cranes that lightly failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of nations that was concluded in February.
Fyonna Nsubuga released a Uganda Cranes Song titled ‘Uganda Cranes’. Fyonna composed the song after the disappointment Uganda cranes and our people experienced when the team failed to quality at the end of 2011. Particularly cranes fans in the Uganda UK community who were upset that Cranes did not qualify when the Cranes drew with Kenya’s Harambe stars despite much effort of the cranes players.
Fyonna conversely believes that in football such things happen and the fact that Cranes nearly made it, they deserve all the support possible. The country should have faith in its team mainly on home matches, because this is the time when Cranes will make it.
Fyonna Nsubuga is planning to hit the Ugandan music scene in June. She has lived in the UK since her early teens and is at present signed with UK publishing label Triumph Music Group as an Artist/Song writer.
Fyonna Nsubuga will be releasing her first Ugandan album in the first week of March through Radio Simba. She will be a guest artist on Kigunda show this year.
Fyonna will have a Scandinavian tour on which she plans to reach Sweden, Denmark and German among other communities that appreciate her music. Fyonna will end the year with a Ugandan tour to be themed Ndikulinda (New chapter) tour in all regions of Uganda.
