A group of Uganda’s top female musicians that included Joanita Kawalya, Jemima Sanyu, Angela Kalule, Julie Mutesasira and many others recorded the African Union Summit Theme song titled This Is The Time. This song was produced by renowned hit maker Kiwuwa at Grayce Records and was performed on most of the events of the just concluded African Union summit.

Many artists who wanted their voices to be heard by African leaders and the world at large did come together to address issues related to women and children’s health. These artists also performed at a concert at Hotel Africana’s People’s space. Performers at this concert included Chaka Chaka from South Africa, Maiko Zulu, Sister D and Martha from Zambia and many Ugandan musicians. At Hotel Africana, artists advised African leaders and all those who fund Africa to seriously deal with issues related to Maternal, Infant and Child Health. It’s time for our leaders to act now than always promising. This was a very good cause from all the artists who participated. We hope that the leaders will take this matter seriously.
