PAM Awards on this Saturday

Uganda’s prestigious music rewarding event PAM Awards is going to be held this Saturday 6th November from UMA show grounds Lugogo. After missing in action last year, the people behind these historical awards re-organized and tomorrow, they will crown new winners.

Juliana Kanyomozi was the last PAM awards artist of year in 2008. This year’s nominees for Artist of the year are Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Jose Chameleone and the Goodlyfe duo of Moses Radio and Weasel TV who are being nominated for the first time in this category.

Both Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone have already tested on the benefits that come along with PAM artist of the year award while Bebe Cool who is currently in America stays the only unlucky one among the big three. Whether Bebe Cool will break the jinx and take home the biggest accolade, time will tell.

Minus Artist of the year, the other tight categories are; Male artist of the year, Female Artist of the year, Album of the year, HipHop artist of the year and New Artist of the year.

Just like in the Artist of the year category; Bebe Cool, Chameleone, Bobi Wine and Goodlyfe duo of Radio and Weasel are the same nominees for best Male artist and Album of the year.

The battle for Female artist of the year is between 2008 PAM artist of the year Juliana Kanyomozi, 2009 Diva artist of the year Cindy, 2008 PAM awards best video winner Grace Nakimera and Begombeko singer Iryn Namubiru.

Another tight race is in the HipHop artist of the year category. Navio, Atlas, Luga-flow maestro GNL Zamba and Mun G are the nominees.

New artist of the year category is another very competitive category. The nominees here are; Eddy Kenzo, Samalie Matovu, Coco Finger and Kiwoko duo of Eighton and Raineman. All the four competitors have had mammoth success for the past twelve months.

Entrance fee at this year’ PAM Awards will be 30000 Ugandan shillings. Be there and see who takes home what.
