Dr. Jose Chameleone
He is seen as East Africa’s finest musician. Doctor Jose Chameleone aka Joseph Mayanja has enjoyed almost everything in East Africa’s music industry. Born in 1979, Chameleone’s parents believed that he would become a medical doctor. This however never happened as Chameleone joined music as an easy way to success. He traveled to Kenya where he met Bebe Cool and Ogopa Deejays. His first song was Bageya featuring Redsan. This song became a big hit in Kenya yet very few people knew about him at home. In Uganda, his break through song was Maama Mia released in 2001. Since 2000, Chameleone has been a star and still going on. He has so far released thirteen music albums with more than seven songs on each. Even though Chameleone did not become a medical doctor as his father wished, he nonetheless named himself Ugandaï¿½s music doctor.
