A few minutes ago, Chris Brown arrived in Kenya for the Mombasa Rocks Festival scheduled for today.
On his way out of the airport, he was involved in a bad incident that is already making rounds allover the world. Media and eye witnesses report that he smashed a fan’s mobile phone as she tried to take a selfie.
“Popstar Chris Brown smashes a mobile phone belonging to a fan as she attempts to take a selfie with him in Mombasa.” NTV Kenya ( @NTVnewsroom) reported.
“US musician Chris Brown smashes phone of female fan who tried to take selfie with him in Kenya’s coastal town of Mombasa reports local media. The RnB singer arrived in Mombasa County on Saturday morning for the much anticipated concert dubbed Mombasa Rocks,” CCTV Kenya also confirmed this report.
Following the phone incident, many Kenyans on Social Media started and are actively using the hashtag #DeportChrisBrown . So far this move is getting very divided opinion. While some think that Chris Brown should be penalized for this act, many believe otherwise. The argue that the female fan is to blame as she was trying to take a selfie with out authorization from neither Chris Brown nor his handlers. Regardless, it is highly unlikely that any action will be taken. Chris Brown will continue with his performance tonight.
This comes just a months after Congolese singer Koffi Olomide was deported from Kenya after assaulting a female dancer said to be a member of his band at Jomo Kenyatta international airport in July.
